The University Of Botswana (UB) Computer Science Department and the University of Johannesburg (UJ), South Africa are hosting the First International Conference on the Internet, Cyber Security and Information Systems to be held in Gaborone, Botswana from 18th to 20th May 2016 at The Gaborone International Convention Center and The Grand Palm hotel.
This is bringing together local, regional, and international stakeholders in Academia, Government, Industry to deliberate on issues surrounding cyber-security – Ranging from Technical, Governance & Policy, Critical Infrastructure & Services, Protection Structures, Connected regional HPC and Data Cyber-infrastructure & Open Data and Cyber-security Capacity building. The deliberations to then inform development of a Template Model Cyber-Security Strategy for possible consideration by regional states. There is representation from SADC, AUC, ECOWAS, US and EU. There will be parallel workshops on above themes.
